On the Archer side of the family: According from the book, Legacy of John Mcquatty Archer, that from this line is direct descendants of Pocahontas, Mataoka or Metoaka. I have not been able to find this is true or not, except there is an Archer married into that line and she came from England. This still would not make our line direct desendants, except distant cousins. If anyone has been able to fine out more on this then let me know. I am truely facinated by this. Through this line we are related to Jesse James, but not very many people want to admit that.
On the Wyatt side of the family: All Wyatts are related depending on which line that came from Europe. From my line of Wyatt's my relatives and I have linked us to the east side of the United States. It is believed that all the Wyatts are linked to Conquest Wyatt from Virginia, but not sure who or where there is the link, since during that period there was lot of Williams and families tend to move around a lot. There is a possiblity that the Wyatt are direct discendants from Sir Thomas Wyatt the poet.
We have been informed that there is Cherokee blood in our lines, but not sure from who this comes from. Any information on this let me know. The whole family would like to know. Thanks. Laurie
